Although our mobile robotic system is designed for the precision harvesting of stalk vegetables, its adaptability offers a significant advantage for other agricultural applications, notably in weed control. With minor adjustments to the existing technology, the robot can be configured to identify and eradicate invasive weed species. The same advanced camera and laser scanning technology that allows for precision harvesting can also be used to distinguish weeds from crops, enabling the robot to precisely remove unwanted vegetation without damaging the plants.
